Description:
Eight comb black painted leather fire helmet with tooled linear decoration on crown and scroll border on brim; gold painted leather frontpiece with firefighting tools at center and inscription, "SER[G]T AT ARMS / NY EXEMPT ASSN / 23RD WARD," in gold painted leather lettering; gilded brass eagle frontpiece holder; textile half-lining.
