Description:
Fireman's blue wool felt fatigue cap with rigid, cylindrical, flat-topped crown and black patent leather visor which is flat and somewhat rectangular; metal insignia with "EXEMPT / 23. & 24. W. N.Y" in openwork design; black patent leather chin strap secured at either side by a button embossed with initials "F.D."; leather sweatband and scarlet silk lining.
