Silk Regimental flag of the 3rd Alabama Infantry U.S. Volunteers; blue silk painted with and American bald eagle holding a banner that is inscribed, "E PLURIBUS/ UNUM" in his beak, three arrows in his left claw and a laurel branch in his right; above the eagle is a rising sun with thirteen stars in two archs; below the eagle is a banner inscribed, "3rd ALA. INF. U.S. VOLS."; gold trim around the three edges of the fly.
