Description:
Silk U.S. Regimental flag of the 39th Regiment U.S. Infantry Volunteers with forty-five gold painted stars in the canton (three rows of eight stars interspaced with three rows of seven stars); thirteen red and white stripes, center stripe inscribed, "39th. REGIMENT INFANTRY U.S. VOLUNTEERS" in gold paint; gold silk fringe trim along the three fly edges.
