Description:
Flagstaff of the George Washington Post of the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.); wooden staff with metal cuff 2/3 of its length down, threaded interior on upper half, screw on top of lower half, allows the staff to screw together; metal half ball finial that originally was surmounted by an eagle (only talons extant); metal ovoid tip at base held on with a screw.
