Description:
Fan with ivory guards and sticks, and paper leaf with hand-painted line engraving depicting three-masted ship full of rejoicing sailors.
Gallery Label:
A note attached to this fan indicates that it was carried by Lucy Jackson to a ball held on a battleship to celebrate the American victory at Plattsburgh on Lake Champlain during the War of 1812.
