Copper-plated lead electrotype of George Washington medal with obverse showing nude bust of Washington facing right with legend: "GEORGIO WASHINGTON SVPREMO DVCI EXERCITVVM ADSERTORI LIBERTATIS"; inscription below bust at center: "COMITIA AMERICANA." Reverse shows Washington and his staff, on horseback, watching the British evacuation of Boston and the entrance of the American forces; legend above: "HOSTIBUS PRIMO FUGATIS"; inscription below exergual line: "BOSTONIUM RECUPERATUM/XVII MARTII/MDCCLXXVI."
