Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse depicting clothed bust of George Edmunds facing right, flanked by dates "1828" and "1919"; legend above: "GEORGE FRANKLIN EDMUNDS." Reverse contains inscription encircled by laurel wreath: "AWARDED/BY THE VERMONT/HISTORICAL SOCIETY/TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG/VERMONTERS TO STUDY/THE HISTORY AND PROBLEMS/OF THEIR STATE AND TO/HONOR THE MEMORY OF/GEORGE FRANKLIN/EDMUNDS"; rectangular tablet labelled "SPECIMEN" below. Medal is inset into square cream-colored cardboard box.
