Half-model of hull of steamship mounted on backboard; white stripe painted beneath wide deck platform; backboard has gilded bevelled edge; gilded inscription "STR. ALBANY."
Gallery Label:
The "Albany" was a Hudson River passenger steamboat built in 1880. Half models were also known as builders' models because they were used as guidelines for the actual construction of ships.
