Iron helmet; riveted, domed iron helmet with crest at top and wide brim.
Gallery Label:
According to accession records, this helmet was probably manufactured by the London Armorers Company, and was of the type worn by English pikemen and soldiers during the mid-seventeenth century. This helmet was part of a suit of armor that was bought by the donor at Christie's in London on December 8, 1959.
