Police silver badge with star shape

Clarkson Crolius, Jr. followed his father's footsteps into local politics. Starting out in 1838 as Assistant Alderman from the Sixth Ward, his father's territory, he represented the Seventeenth Ward from 1847 to 1849. Crolius later held office as a State Senator and served as trustee to many public institutions. He was a member of the New-York Historical Society from 1858 until his death.
