Description:
Albany slip-glazed stoneware jar with incised lines around rim and upper and impressed maker's mark.
Gallery Label:
Albany slip, a less expensive coating than salt glaze, was used as an exterior finish as well. The color of Albany slip varied slightly from one clay deposit to another.
