Description:
Salt-glazed stoneware jar with shallow handles at the shoulder and a metallic red-brown glazed interior. The front is decorated with a stylized floral cobalt blue slip design below words "2/ F. Laufersweiler/ Empire City Pottery/ 517 & 519 w. 27 St. NY", impressed into the stoneware and highlighted with cobalt blue. The top narrows at the neck and has a lip that may have supported a domed lid.
