Description:
Carved bone jewelry fragment in the form of a heart with a cross at the center; reverse has two findings at top and bottom with hollow centers.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession record, this piece of jewelry was given to nurse Caroline Cox, made by Union soldiers convalescing during the Civil War. A note with the object identifies "Hoffman" as the maker.
