Square white cotton kerchief.
Gallery Label:
This kerchief was worn bvy Joseph H. Bradley of the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry (Duryee's Zouaves) during the Civil War. It was tied around his left arm as a distinguishing mark according to orders, on the night march of the regiment from Hampton, Virginia, to and during the Battle of Big Bethel, Virginia, June 10, 1861.
