Description:
Portable wooden writing desk decorated with brass inlay; both top and front of box decorated with a rectangle with concave chamfered corners outlined in brass, with similarly shaped escutcheons at center top and surrounding keyhole in front; brass strips applied to edges of top and bottom, corners, and elsewhere; slanted square writing surface covered in oilcloth, the two sections of which conceal interior compartments; trough along front (top) edge for implements and accessories; rectangular compartment in side for (missing) drawer; rectangular brass handle on one side.
