Description:
Pair of ecru linen leggings, fitted to the leg; edges fasten to vertical row of 7 bone buttons.
Gallery Label:
These leggings are part of a Zouave uniform worn by David P. Davis during the Civil War. He served with the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, commonly called "Duryee's Zouaves." Davis served in the Peninsula Campaign under McClellan, the second Battle of Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville.
