Black leather rectangular license plate with metal initials "G P H"; two metal hooks at top and piece of twine strung between them.
Gallery Label:
This license plate was used on the automobile of Gerardus Post Herrick of New York City. It was used in the days before numbered plates were issued, and was supposedly the 6th license plate issued by New York State.
