Description:
This cardboard collar box has wood lid with a print of Scottish soldiers in tartan kilts on the front and on the rear a label that reads in blue "Washington Collars/ After the collars are used from this box it loses its identity as a Collar Box, and becomes an Elegant Fancy Work and Spool Thread Box for ladies use, well worth the price of the entire package/ Patented Sept. 25th 1877./ Washington Manuf. Co./ Troy, N.Y." The box itself is a red, yellow and green plaid tartan print with statues and numbers, and holes protected by metal grommets. It reads "Statuette/ Registered Oct. 23rd 1877/ This box manufactured only by the Washington Manufg Co. Troy, N.Y.", and the box appears to convert to a spinning toy or optical amusement.
