Bronze struck medal with obverse showing tomb, with funeral urn above and military trophies around with inscription: "W.BURROWS" in oval reserve on tomb; legend: "VICTORIAM TIBI CLARAM. PATRIAE MAESTAM." Reverse with naval battle and legend: "VIVERE SAT VINCERE," inscription in ex.: "ENTER ENTERPRIZE NAV./AMERI.ET BOXER NAV./BRIT. DIE IV SEPT./MDCCCXIII."
