Description:
Linen bedsheet woven in two loom widths; with hand-stitched seam and hems.
Gallery Label:
According to the donor, this bedsheet was originally given to Sarah M. Kensett at the time of her marriage in 1812, and subsequently passed on to Elizabeth A. Kensett when she married in 1840. Genealogical records suggest that it was used by Elizabeth D. Kensett (b.1817) who married Horation Nelson Vail of New York City in 1833 and Sarah Marshall Kensett (b. 1822) who married Noah Kellogg in 1845.
