Oval Rococo Revival looking glass in carved and gilded frame with reverse serpentine scrolls interspersed with flowers, and a scallop shell at top and bottom.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession records, this looking glass once belonged to Frederic de Peyster (1790-1882) of 76 University Place, New York City, and later passed to his grandson Johnston Livingston de Peyster.
