Description:
Vertical oblong looking glass with ornate, heavily modeled gilded frame with scalloped inner edge with scroll border, oval piercings, and decoration consisting of scrolling leaves and three-dimensional fruits and blossoms.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession records, this looking glass was used in the Verplanck mansion on Wall Street, in New York City. A matching looking glass was given to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
