Bronze struck medal with obverse showing uniformed bust of Winfield Scott facing right with legend: "MAJOR GENERAL WINFIELD SCOTT." Reverse bears inscription within wreath of laurel and palm branches intertwined with serpent biting its own tail: "RESOLUTION/OF/CONGRESS/NOVEMBER 3.1814./BATTLES OF CHIPPEWA/JULY 5.1814./NIAGARA/JULY 25.1814."
