Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse depicting nude bust of Winfield Scott facing left with scroll above with inscription: "MAJOR GENERAL WINFIELD SCOTT"; fifteen stars on each side of bust. Reverse has vignettes of six battle scenes surrounding central view labelled "CITY OF MEXICO"; battles are labelled:"VERA CRUZ," CERRO GORDO," "CONTRERAS," SAN ANTONIO & CHURUBUSCO," MOLINO DEL REY," and "CHAPULTEPEC."
