A would-be emigrant at the dockside gazes at a placard inscribed: "NEW YORK AND BOSTON DIRECT. The CLIPPERSHIP HIBERNIA. A.No 1. O.ROORKE, MASTER." Two clipper ships are in the background. The Society also owns a ship portrait in oil of the Hibernia that is attributed to Samuel Walters.
