The subject was the youngest daughter of Robert Shaw Sturgis (1824-76) and Susan Brimmer (Inches) Sturgis of Philadelphia. She married Edgar Thomson Scott on February 28, 1898. Mr. and Mrs. Scott lived at Woodburne in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.
