Description:
Cast iron mechanical bank in the form of frog crouched on round pedestal; sides of pedestal composed of three panels with cast decoration (painted red and yellow) of arched window (with panes cut out) flanked by columns with inscription above, separated from each other by two panels of pierced decoration; when frog's front leg is depressed, mouth opens to receive coin.

This bank was based on Patent No. 130, 575, issued to Russell Frisbie on August 20, 1872. (See Publications) According to accession records, this object belonged to the donor's late husband.
