White metal struck medal obverse with showing left-facing portrait bust of Columbus with wreath and legend "CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS 1492." Reverse shows Columbus and group with cross in background. Legend: "400TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DISCOVERY OF AMERICA Oct . 12. 1892." Hole punched at top center.
