Bronze struck medal with obverse showing left-facing bust-length portrait of Columbus with legend "CHRISTOPHE COLOMB." Reverse shows legend in two concentric rings around central dates; legend: "CREDO EQUIDEM! NEC VANA FIDES. VERE EST NOVA TERRA/ DECOUVERTE DE L'AMERIQUE. 1492/ 1892/ 400EME/ ANNIVERSAIRE."
