White metal struck medal with obverse showing left-facing three-quarter length bust portrait of hatted Columbus holding chart within laurel border; legend: "CRISTOFORO COLOMBO/ NATO 1456 * MORTO/ 1506." Reverse shows female Native American right standing, pointing towards building for seated draped female figure holding Italian shield, three ships in background, crowned shield with griffin supporters above; legend: "RICORDO DELL' ESPOSIZIONE ITALO-AMERICANA GENOVA/1892"; in exergue.: " * 1492 - 1892 * / IV. CENTENARIO."
