Metal pin-back bar embossed with images of two cannons, two swords and an eagle holding a laurel wreath, attached to a strip of yellow ribbon and a hanging metal medallion. Yellow ribbon printed with silver words "ROCHESTER/N. Y.". Medallion shaped like a coin with a man's portrait surrounded by the words "JOHN E. GILMAN".
