Circular medal box made of relic wood associated with the Erie Canal; turned two-part box with paper label in each half; label in base reads; "THIS BOX was made out of a piece of wood brought from Erie in the first Canal Boat THE SENECA CHIEF," label in lid reads; "PRESENTED BY THE CITY OF NEW YORK" surrounding an eagle perched on a half-globe.
