Bronze struck medal with obverse showing neo-Gothic church building with legend: "CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE/IN THE CITY AND/DIOCESE OF NEW YORK." Reverse shows almond-shaped seal of New York Diocese flanked by two crosses; legend: "CONSECRATION OF THE CATHEDRAL CHOIR, S.SAVIOR'S CHAPEL AND S.COLUMBA CHAPEL/APRIL XIX, MCMXI."

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, located at West 112th street and Amsterdam Avenue in New York City, is the largest church in the United States. Construction by the firm Heins and LaFarge began in 1892 and continued through 1941.
