Brass medal suspended from bar with pin-back; upper bar inscribed "18 CHIKAMAUGA 98"; circular medal with laurel wreath and four sided cross; each cross end insribed "N/Y/V/1898"; inscribed at center "SPANISH WAR/VETERAN/8"; reverse inscribed "217/DIEGES & CLUST/23/JOHN ST., N.Y."; bar and medal connected by a red, white and yellow silk ribbon.
