Description:
Silver struck medal with obverse showing clothed bust of Andrew Carnegie facing right with legend: ".CARNEGIE. HERO. FUND./.ESTABLISHED APRIL 15th 1904." Reverse has ornate tablet at center inscribed: "AWARDED TO/SPECIMEN/PRESENTED TO/AMERICAN MUSEUM/OF/NATURAL HISTORY/NEW YORK, N.Y." and three heraldic emblems in ornate reserves upon world map; legend: ".GREATED LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS."
