Description:
Wrought silver milk pot; raised, inverted pear-shaped body with a flared rim and extended pouring lip; applied beading around the rim; cast, circular stepped foot and circular pedestal; beading applied around the edge of the foot; double-scroll, strap handle, upper juncture at rim with a paw-foot drop inside; midrib on top of handle with an applied beaded band, to slight grip, forked scroll terminal; bright-cut oval reserve suspended from a bow-knot and surrounded by a floral garland in the center of the body; oval reserve engraved, "E R" in bright-cut script; maker's mark on the base.

The milk pot was probably made for Elizabeth Rhodes (1770-1796), who married Samuel Wharton Fisher (1764-1817) in Philadelphia in 1791.
