Description:
"Mimic War" table game with box and thirty military figures; cover of box lithographed with an image of a battle scene during the Franco-Prussian War with Prussian cavalry and French foot soldiers; cover inscribed, "MIMIC WAR/ TOKALON SERIES/ TRADE MARK/ Published by EDGAR O. CLARK,/ SUCCESSOR TO/ CLARK & SOWDON/ NEW YORK;" twenty-four cardboard figures dressed in Spanish-American War costume, with seven different characters in army and naval dress with a name handwritten on the back of each figure; all supported by wooden stands; six figures applied to piece of wall paper; two small printed U.S. flags attached to wooden poles and one partial figure.
Gallery Label:
Mimic War includes thirty military figures that children could use to act out their favorite war battles. Though the box cover illustrates soldiers from the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871), the "action" figures inside are dressed in the naval and military costume of the Spanish-American War (1898).
