Description:
Suzie, asleep, sits facing right. She wears a large hat, blue and red; her heavy body, nude but for stockings and shoes, is partially covered by an open red dressing gown. To her left on a covered table is a tell-tale bottle of wine.

The Art Students League is a century-old institution, at which many well- and lesser-known professional artists, as well as dedicated amateurs, have studied. Suzie's long-term connection as a favored model, frequently depicted by both students and teachers at the League, links her to the near-legendary history of the institution.
