Description:
Bronze mortar; cylindrical lower half with heavy foot, molded foliate decoration, loop handles, and roughly formed shield with cross-hatch insignia; upper half slightly flaring, with molded bands and inscription; dumb-bell shaped pestle with knop at center.

This mortar and pestle are possibly a copy of an older set or possibly Masonic.
