About 1810 Jarvis painted two adult members of the Wyckoff family, who by coincidence bore names similar to the subject's two sons. These portraits were of an Alexander Robertson Wyckoff (n.d.), owned by the Brooklyn Museum, and Henry L. (sometimes I.) Wyckoff, treasurer of the New York State Chamber of Commerce from 1806 to 1839. Both of these are listed in Dickson, "John Wesley Jarvis" (1949, p. 369, nos. 263 and 264). But no mention is made of the portrait of Mrs. Albert Wyckoff, which...
