Gallery Label:
The subject, née Jane Gale, married George Wilson, a prominent New York lawyer and son of Peter Wilson, on August 13, 1804. The couple lived at 24 John Street in New York City. This portrait of Mrs. Wilson was a gift to the Society from her great-grandson.
