Elizabeth Waldron Phoenix was the daughter of Major Daniel Phoenix (1761-1828) and Anna Lewis (Phillips) Phoenix of Morristown, New Jersey. She was married on October 21, 1834, to Henry Rutgers Remsen (1809-74).
