Gallery Label:
The subject was a niece of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the daughter of his half-brother James R. Roosevelt (1854-1927) and his first wife, Helen (d. 1894). Her husband, whom she married in 1904, was assistant secretary of the navy during the Calvin Coolidge administration.
