Lydia Amanda Ostrander was the daughter of Isaac and Lydia (Lockwood) Ostrander of Greenwich, Connecticut. She married her first husband, Lyman B. Sackett (1818-41), a merchant of Sackett & Bros. in New York, on February 3, 1840. She married her second husband, William Edgar Stillwell (1807-69) of New York, on October 22, 1843. Mrs. Stillwell died at 60 West 92nd Street in New York. This portrait was a gift to the Society from her husband's nephew.
