Description:
A) Silver award medal in the shape of an artist's palette with inscriptions on both sides, foliate wreath center of obverse, inscribed on recto: "FIRST PREMIUM AWARDED / To / Robt M. Pratt / for the / best Drawing from the Milo & Lion.", inscribed on reverse: "NATIONAL ACADEMY OF DESIGN, / Instituted / Jan.y 19th / 1826. / Incorporated April 1828."; oval case (b) is brown leather, hinged at the back with three metal hook fasteners, inside lined with brown velvet.
