Description:
Silver-plated bronze struck medal with obverse containing National Broadcasting Company's three-letter logo written horizontally and vertically with lightning bolts extending in four directions; date "19/26" inscribed above, and "19/36" below. Reverse bears inscription: "TENTH ANNIVERSARY/TO THOSE WHO HAVE SHARED WITH US/IN THE ADVANCEMENT OF BROADCASTING"; surrounding legend: "NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMPANY INC./A RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA SERVICE."
Gallery Label:
Elihu Root (1845-1937) was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1912. He served as Secretary of War under McKinley and Roosevelt (1899-1903) and as Secretary of State under Roosevelt (1905-1909). From 1909- 1915 he was a Republican Senator from New York.
