Description:
Two part cylindrical needle case made of painted wood in a thick lacquer like faux tortoiseshell finish. The case is decorated with inlaid metal and abalone (mother of pear) in floral and banded cloisonné like designs. The top slides over a horn collar inserted into the wooden base to close. Where the two parts meet each is banded with brass.
