Description:
Ivory needle case of flat rectangular form, with scallops at top and point at bottom; top third carved with feather-like motif; middle third inset with metal circles and metal lyre; bottom third carved.

This needle case was owned by Mrs. John (Harriet Moore Francis) Rogers, Jr. (1841-1927), wife of the sculptor John Rogers. They lived in New York until 1877, when they established their residence in New Canaan, CT.
