Bronze struck medal with obverse depicting the Crystal Palace building with legend above: "NEW YORK CRYSTAL PALACE"; in exergue: "1853" with nine stars below. Reverse shows carriage drawn by two dogs with inscription in exergue: "TRAY & TROY"; legend: "H.B. WEST'S/FAMOUS TRAINED DOGS." Ribbed edge.
